Mighty Men – Men’s Ministry
Men’s Ministry is built upon the foundation of being men that pray, serve, and love Jesus. The desire and goal is that every man is to be a “Strong Man.” A strong man worships the Lord (Psalm 29:1-2); a strong man prays (1 Timothy 2:8); a strong man is wise and studies the Word (Proverbs 24:5 & 2 Timothy 2:15); a strong man serves (Mark 9:35); these are a few of the qualities and characteristics of a strong man, but above all – a strong man loves God (Mark 12:30)! Through the year we will pray, study God’s Word, share in fellowship events, serve, and pray together as we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 24:5-6
Strong Man – Prayer
Each Saturday Night at 6:45 pm the men of Calvary Chapel Fargo gather at the church building (2796 5th Ave S, Suite A) for prayer. “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” – 1 Timothy 2:8
Strong Man – Fellowship Events
February 2019 –
Saturday February 16 we will get together for lunch and fellowship, 11am – 3pm at the church building (2796 5th Ave S, Fargo). “To try or not to try…again” will be the lunch theme so bring a dish/food that you have never made before or tried before and is worth trying. Read that again and take note, worth trying is the key – no “clean out the fridge casserole mashup,” or mystery meat surprise dishes please. This is not a trick or gross out lunch – we want to enjoy good food together.
If you like games, bring games to share or ask others to bring the games you would like them to share. Who knows maybe an outdoor game of bag-toss might be available since the groundhog predicted early spring this year – and then again how this winter has been we will probably keep to indoors.
Strong Man – Men’s Conference
The theme is “The Hope of Glory” with four teaching sessions through the book of Colossians. It will be a time in the Word of God, worship, fellowship, afterglow, great food, and activities.
Meals – Friday night dinner and Saturday lunch will be provided.
Accommodations – There are numerous hotels to choose from, many well within a five-mile radius of the church building (2796 5th Ave S, Suite A, Fargo, ND 58103). For those looking for a little more adventure or just a free place to stay, the church has a large room which will be available for those who are up for a ‘barracks’ like evening. You will need to bring your own cot, sleeping bag, etc. for sleeping. There are bathrooms available, just no showers.
The 2019 Men’s Conference is almost here: Friday March 15th and Saturday March 16th. The theme is “The Hope of Glory” with four teaching sessions through the book of Colossians. It will be a time in the Word of God, worship, fellowship, afterglow, great food, and activities. Be in prayer for the conference, seeking the Lord’s grace to be poured out upon it and the blessings He desires us to receive. Six fellowships and three speakers have been invited so we may have a bigger turnout this year. The plan is to bless all those that come with meals, fellowship, prayer, etc.
